Lexapro (Cipralex) depressant. Available in tablets with a film cover. Appointed in various degrees of severity of depressive episodes, panic, obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders.
The lexapro is made regardless of meals 1 time per day dosage of 10 to 20 mg, depending on the nature and severity of depressive episodes and disorders. The course of treatment for a long period, the exact period establishes the attending physician.
The mechanism of antidepressant action presumably associated with increased serotonergic activity in the CNS resulting from inhibition of neuronal reuptake of serotonin. In vitro and in vivo on animals have shown the ability of ESCITALOPRAM vsokoseleguo inhibit reverse neuronal capture of serotonin in the CNS with minimum effect against reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine. ESCITALOPRAM is at least 100 times more potent inhibitor of serotonin reuptake than R-enantiomer. Tolerance in modelling antidepressant effect develops during long-term (up to 5 weeks) administered to rats. ESCITALOPRAM does not react or has a very weak ability to bind to serotonin (5-HT1–7) or other receptors including alpha and beta-adrenergic, dopamine (D1–5), histamine (H1–3), muscarinic (M1–5), and benzodiazepine receptors (antagonism to muscarinic, histaminic and adrenergic receptors, presumably, causes various anticholinergic, sedative, and cardiovascular side effects of other psychotropic lexapro). ESCITALOPRAM also does not bind or has a very low affinity to various ion channels including Na+, K+, Cl and Ca2+ channels.
Depression causes a constant feeling of sadness, anger and helplessness that can adversely affect daily human activities, i.e. work, sleep and study, and reduces the interest in things that used to cause pleasure. According to the centers for control and prevention of disease the US, about 9% of the adult population suffer from some form of depression that lasts for two weeks or more. Depression occurs more often in women than in men.
Common side effects include insomnia, violation of ejaculation, nausea, sweating, fatigue and drowsiness, and reduced libido (reduced libido). Like all other antidepressants, ESCITALOPRAM is supplied in packages with a warning in a black box that warns about an increased risk of suicidal behavior in children, adolescents and young people at the initial stage of treatment. However, such risks in patients older than 24 years was observed, while in patients older than 65 years the risks had decreased.
In childhood, during pregnancy and lactation, hypersensitivity and during the admission of MAO inhibitors and pimozide, the lexapro is contraindicated.
With care it should also apply to patients with epilepsy, manias, hypomania, diabetes, with a tendency to bleeding, suicidal behavior, people with renal failure, cirrhosis of the liver.
